What is the Glossary and how can I use it?

The glossary is an activity that allows to create and manage a list of terms and of their definitions, like a dictionary. Automatically, every time a specific term appears in a course (on a page, label, quiz, choice, forum, feedback, etc.) it will be linked to its definition in the glossary.

Attention: only the terms that appear in resources or activities that have been created directly in the platform are linked, all the terms recurring in other files uploaded (e.g., pdf files, PowerPoint, Word files, etc.) cannot be linked.

The glossary can be used, for instance, for providing definitions of complex terms or acronyms. To add a glossary to a course, click on Add an activity or resource in the chosen section, then select Glossary.
